Nancy Mee
About
Drawing on mythologies from around the world, Nancy Mee reflects on the universal truths, distilling their essence in her works. The forms and images are given a psychic weight through her assemblages of slumped and sandblasted glass with cut and cast metal and stone.
Culminating in her new works called Sentinels, alluding to the guardian figures which solemnly protect passageways in gardens and temples.
She has been included in exhibitions at the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Tacoma Art Museum, the Seattle Art Museum, as well as, being included in collections at Microsoft Corp., Musee des Decoratifs, Lausanne, Switzerland, Safeco Corp., and Swedish Medical Center, to name a few.
