DENNIS EVANS
Dennis Evans has gained recognition for his ambitious installations and performances. His works seek and
interpret the origin and history of knowledge and language. Evans combines a wide range of media in his works,
from found objects of antiquity, etched glass, wood constructs, printmaking, oil painting, to encaustic painting.
Over the last twenty-five years, Dennis Evans has, "examined and questioned man's unquenchable curiosity
and man's universal and passionate desire to give order and hierarchy to his observations."
He was included in the Whitney Biennial in 1978 and since then has shown extensively
throughout the United States. Recently the Museum of Modern Art in New York included
his work in a series of group exhibitions.
